Yep. All empty traps this morning for me in PA lake effect zone. Who knows how much we could get by end of this. So much for buck hunting tomorrow too. Dont have a tag left but wanted wife to have a good hunting weekend.

Should make deer easier to see if you can get to the woods.

But, I know nothing about hunting in that white stuff.

Think of every branch growing in width by 3" or more. And every pine bough is hanging 3 feet lower with snow on top. Then how far do you think youd be able to see? After it has fallen and off the braches is when it gets productive. Logistics of parking roadside when the plows have to go by every few hours too.

They stay to the thick heavy cover.You got to track them in the snow going in after them tracking for miles.

We get very strange snow patterns in Southern VA. May go several winters with only a dusting or 3-4 inches all winter. About every 10 years, we’ll get a freak storm that’ll drop +10”. I used to love the snow because we’d get it so infrequently, but as son as my boys got to driving age, I don’t really care to see it anymore. They don’t get enough practice and I don’t trust anyone else on the road around them.

At least you got something pretty to look at all day while shoving down the leftover turkey!

We got 1/2 to 1 inch of light snow the past day and it's not gonna melt anytime soon. Good time to see if any fisher been hitting my carcass pile.

Hard to say how much has fallen so far. 8" thereabouts when i walked out to check traps this morning. After first round of plowing, i can barely see the old tracks.

My wife hunting this weekend is not out of the question. I think well be able to make it work for a sit tomorrow and sunday.

We love it here. Got 4 to 5 Feet coming this Saturday. Lake effect snow. I pulled sets yesterday

The older I get the more I hate snow.Snow looks pretty in pictures.

Be alright if just outside the lake effect zone. Thats my dream retirement, as silly as it sounds. Unfortunately both my hunting properties are still in, although not middle of the snow belt.

That will get the fur moving and the traps full.

More snow next week.Had to pull furthest 16 sets in while I could still get to them.
