This is the 8th season without my Dad
It doesn't seem to get any easier, I used his favorite gun and wore his hunting hat today for our opener
I think the opener is harder to deal with that the holidays without him here

Love beef and elk liver. Can't handle the smell of deer liver. Was cutting up todays liver for bait and told my wife I can't believe people eat this. She agreed. I will fist fight for the heart though. Like deer heart way more than beef.

Yep, wouldn't pass inspection on the kill line. there is a reason inspectors rail those carcasses out.

My favorite part of the deer. If a buck would hand over his heart and liver, I’d let them walk.

I have seen them in elk. I ate liver years ago mostly had to as as a kid.I personally won’t eat something like that anymore as the liver is the filter for all the toxins in the body.oh but wait liver is good for you ….lol
