The biggest snow tires that'll fit your truck will definitly help a lot. I pull up to a stone wall and throw a bunch of large rocks in the back of my 2 wheel drive Ranger, at the end of use just drop them back into a stone wall somewhere, why waste my money on sand! (Frantically searching memory banks for stone walls) Also good idea!

If you are on pavement, skinnier tires will cut through the snow better. Wide tires will cause you to float.

If snow sticks around all winter there, winter tires rock. Duratracs are among other good ones. If it’s deep, speed is your friend as long as it’s not half a mile of deep stuff…lol. To get to the shack a couple years ago it was a lot of speed, then hung up, shovel, back up and giver….repeat.

Im still gonna work. I have to wait for cold spell to break because of domestics. I’m real worried about a frost bitten paw. No need to worry about frozen paws. It will actually make the coyote more comfortable until it reaches its ultimate demise upon your arrival.

FWIW2U: In the fall when I go fishing up at W Alton on the Mississippi, I will fill a couple of buckets with sand from the bar, and use that for weight. Also handy for throwing in front of the wheel for traction. Come spring, I'll dump it in the garden to help loosen the soil.

I misinterpreted what you meant by "because of domestics" . I thought you meant that you wouldn't have time to check the traps early because you had ironing, vacuuming. and kitchen work to do first thing in the morning. Hope that makes you feel better about me. (You did use 2 exclamation marks. )
