$25 for blanket green beaver is not as bad as some of the stuff we've been hearing about the beaver market.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

$25 for blanket $18 for XL's

Less than 15% of my catch doesn't make at least XL so those numbers have meaning to me. The LM's and M's at $5 or less really kill the average. Glad I don't catch many.

I'm glad they have someone editing and holding the phone-camera.
The story line of some of the mink ranches is very interesting.
My Going to University was when the mink prices crashed in the 1970's, and quite a few girls dads had a hard time getting their tuition fees raised for their last years to finish their degrees

I found the video interesting having never seen a system like that at work. I watched the whole thing hoping to see Beav on there with his 70 rats.

So if I got it right.....$15 top on coon whether they were put up or green skinned ? Looked like a $15....10....5.....2 break down on green and put up and maybe $1 on put up blue coon? Doesn't seem to be worth the extra work to put them up if you're not getting added value. Not sure why GFW isn't giving the trapper added value if they put up their fur.....saving GFW labor costs. Guess I'll take my chances at FHA.......or sell my small worthless put up blue coon for $1.......because as Guy said "since you put them up I'll give you $1" .......so.....I guess they aren't worthless after all? Hmmmm

I doubt FHA would be thrilled to receive those $1 coon either.

I know in 2012 their labor cost to put up a coon was $1.50, because that's what they charged me. I'm sure in 2024 their cost is higher, like everything else. With their machine, they can scrape a coon in 9 seconds; don't know a trapper out there that can do it faster with a knife and a beam. If a trapper is going to put one up, at least compensate them the cost of labor. Cheap, Cheap, Cheap.

I watched the first few minutes lastnight but had to turn it off because I had a hard time understanding you over the noise of your truck running.

There are other options for selling coon.

Interesting Video: Pay attention. Think about what you are seeing.
1) It is an edited video to present what they want you to see
2) Deer hide market is up do to shortage of supply and demand
You will notice he asks if you want gloves .He never mentions the $ amount he will pay. It's the old double dip. He is paying less for the gloves then he could be offering you in $
3) Coon- not sure if they are the top $ buyer in the US but regardless. He does not pay any difference in green or dried coon. His top price is $15 but in reality those coon may be worth say $15 top on the low end. He never adds to that price because all those better coon are not the same in value.
4) Their money is made off the small volume country folks with minimum amount of fur that they know will not ship or shop
5)He never shows price rejection from the seller
6) He also does not show negotiation if he does any. Remember these are their prices controlled by them.
7)They most likely have people posting here that will counter what I say so keep that in mind.
8) There are more examples I could point out but the main take away is if you are serious about getting the best price shop your fur

You talking about fur or crops? Your examples are what a farmer deals with every harvest. You guys can pee and moan because you aren’t getting old prices. Come to my neck of the woods were you can’t even sell a coon. Heck if I could get 5 bucks a coon skinned not put up ? I’d have couple hundred waiting on him by January. People begging me to trap deer feeders but won’t pay ADC fees. Even tho it save them in corn waste.
