This spring my community was made aware of an incident at an area school. Apparently a student had been caught planning to shoot up the school. We only learned about it because somebody who knew about it anonymously reported it to some random online media outlet. This incident was covered up by the school administration for months. The individual is a year younger than me. Apparently the person is still attending the public school and is now a freshman.

Since it was caught, they probably wanted to keep people from panicking.

After Columbine "shooting" I pulled my 4 kids from public School

We got them in a private Church school for a year and then my Mother in law used that program to teach our kids at Home school a ACE Paces

We had an incident caught like that from a laptop found in the HS media center....and the public school hushed it up. So we didn't have trust anymore.

remember bullets go mostly strait , turning a corner makes you out of the line of sight when cover isn't available take concealment.

unfortunately lots of companies, schools and administrations choose to do ignore issues thinking it can never happen in their (insert quiet burb here)

by the way have you noticed the complete lack of media attention the Mt Horeb WI incident got
it was a pellet gun looks real from any distance and police responded Fast and Appropriately and unfortunately the troubled youth was the cost of vigilant response and it became more of a suicide by cop than anything.

Yeah Crouder was the catalyst for the people of this area finding out that anything was happening. Pretty crazy it only made the news after it was reported online months after. Yes unsettling for sure.

Usually about once a year (around deer season typically), a student forgets a gun in their vehicle and parks in the school parking lot. That always gets media attention, and the school district is quick to release a statement that the student will be expelled. But when there is a legitimate threat... Crickets

Right here in my hometown the cops/school did a parking lot shakedown. A kid had drove his Dad's pickup to school and there was an empty beer can in the pickup. You can guess the rest.
