DA just dropped the manslaughter charge. Judge told jury to come back Monday to consider lesser charges.

Judge said the jury could not rule on any of the lesser charges unless first reach a verdict on the 2nd-degree manslaughter. Now he dismisses this,, I feel it's a set up to get the lesser charge and 4 years in prison. Totally a conspiracy!

I think it is ridiculous that after the closing arguments that the DA can't just drop a single charge in order to try and procure a more palatable lesser conviction. Should have to run what you brought. Fact is he isn't guilty of anything but they want a conviction come (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) or high water

Well prosecutors are lawyers too. Just because they are on the "right" side doesn't preclude them from being sleaze balls like many criminal defense lawyers are.

Just because they're prosecutors ,doesn't mean they're on the "right' side either.
They all want to win their case, so they get a reputation ,and can charge more money to their clients .

Per Yahoo news: The 2nd deg manslaughter charge has been dismissed by the judge. Remaining charges have a MAX of 4 yrs in prison down to NO jail time.

Sorry, I used to be a firm law and order type of guy, No longer do I presume that the police, da's and other gov't officals are on the "right side".
I look at it case by case.
Way too any cases like this.

My use of quotation marks on either side of the word right are meant to indicate I used the word ironically/sarcastically.
