Hopefully Canada has a fair election, next October and Pierre Poilievre and the right gain power in Canada.

Would Canadians fight to keep firearms, like many Americans would, if the left is able to take the election?

BOCO,

Is it mostly recently arrived immigrants from the former British commonwealth
that are voting in the politicians who try to legislate these various gun grabs ?

Is there support in Canada for anti-gun laws from any other demographic,
or is it strictly limited to politicians & immigrants ?

Canada might do some odd stuff that we wouldn't tolerate, but there's no need to act like boco personally wrote all of their nonsensical policies while dancing around simultaneously peeing in all your Cheerios. I'm sure his government does some things he's not fond of, like ours does to us. And I'll admit, I think the feistiest most confrontational Canadians there is are on Tman, because aside from one guy running a little store in Haines Junction who refused to speak anything other than French, I've never met an unfriendly Canuck

There is no support in Canada for these gun laws and the costs associated with implementing them.
Everyone can see through the BS.
All police services are repeatly saying these laws will do nothing to curb crime.

To be clear, the current liberals have a minority government being proped up by 25 socialists who are basically getting their way in government.

To put this into perspective, in the US your elections are basically decided by less than 5% support one way or the other.

Right now in Canada the conservative party leads the current liberals and ndp by 22%.
If there was an election today it would be a landslide victory to boot out the current bunch. Those 25 socialist members are preventing a vote of non-confidence and an early election

Will they seize the guns or offer a reasonable restitution?

Upstate, no need for friendly fire, I'm sure we can probably agree politically on most things...I was just saying I doubt boco is solely responsible for canada's problems.

You're pretty new here according to your joined date... so you probably just don't know how much Boco brings comments like these upon himself.

No, I can't say that I do. I did just find this site about a month ago. If one guy in Canada with a keyboard is living rent free in the minds of many, we have issues. And I'm not saying he's right, I'm just saying maybe you care too much. If he's happy, let him be. Personally I like my guns, and I'm glad the government isn't telling us what brands of traps are acceptable, but some people thrive in a more structured environment I guess

Ahhh, Timber Tramp; 3 or 4 years ago, on a Friday night, it was a free for all here on Trapper Talk. Like tag team wrestling. lol.
The owner got tired of it and started banning people right and left. Just lost another one a couple weeks ago. Don't know if he will be back or not.
Lot more peaceful now compared to what it was........

You're not wrong. I don't dislike boco, he posts some very great posts on tanning and working with finished fur. I also enjoy his trapline posts, too.

BUT I understand how he gets under people's skin.

If I wasn't so thick-skinned, he would get to me too. But I understand most of his posts are just because most of his country's laws do not affect him due to how remote he is.

Now, that's a different mindset than me, as I tend to consider everyone in our country, and not just myself, even though I also live in an area quite removed from mainstream America, as do you.

BUT Boco thrives on antagonizing Americans... so he's earned what he's got coming.

I also appreciate that he can take the crap that he's earned without getting butthurt about it.

smile
