I thought about it a few days this week but forgot about it today with leaving for work at 1 am the drive and 16 hr shift. Kind of embarrassed that I forgot. I know the war and combat left lasting effecs on my grandfather. Especially liberating one of the concentration camps. You could never go to his hous without him trying to feed you something. The look of pain and disbelief in his eyes when he would talk about how they were walking skeletons and how anyone could treat another that way is stuck with me forever.

A hornet nest was hit that day!

No I haven't forgotten Pearl Harbor and Dec. 7th.
In fact,
I have Tora Tora Tora, Midway with Charlton Heston and From Here To Eternity on DVD. I like to pull them out and watch them at least once a year.

By the way; Charlton Heston was a radio operator/gunner on B-25s based in the Aleutian Islands during WWll. Not one of these modern day coke sniffing sissy boy Hollywood Stars like we have today. He was the real deal.

A friend was into work today, a Vietnam Vet, and reminded us it was Pearl Harbor day. He had spent some time in the hospital in Hawaii, the secretary was Native Hawaiian and still mad about the Japanese attack. She had told him the Japanese planes were banking and turning over their house and her Father was out there unloading his 22 on them as they did.

I feel terrible that it did slip my mind.
Though about it just the other day, but didn't click today!
