For you personally, is it a sell or a keep for taxidermy.

I have one mounted and one tanned, the first and second one I ever caught probably in the mid 80's. Now I just sell them along with my other fur.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I keep an eye on the raw fur prices.I have sold fisher at auction and done very well some years.
I have also had quite a few tanned over the years when raw fur prices tanked on them/
Fisher skins make a durable hat that looks good and is very warm if you spend a lot of time outdoors in winter.

I prefer tanning a skin as a wall hanger as opposed to having something mounted,if you want to keep one. After you get tired of looking at it on the wall after a few years you can get something functional made out of it.

The only exception for me would be an Albino or some other rare specimen.

Same. First one got mounted, second one I had tanned. Did the same for marten. Now they get sold.

Fisher are very common in my area, no special license other than a trapping license, and no possession limit. I have one tanned for a wall hanger, the dozens of others I’ve caught go to auction.

Dropped my nephew's buck off at the taxidermist yesterday. Ask him how much to do a fisher and he said $1200. Coyote $1500. Whitetail shoulder mount $695 and he's the cheapest around.
