I can't help but wonder how folks like Jim Shockey, and other great outfitters and hunters are going to persevere . I really like all his TV shows. A kind, good, humorous guy who practically gets along with everyone. One of my goals is to travel to his Hand Of Man museum in Victoria and enjoy it for several days.
There are a lot of great Canadians who feel just as so many of us. I hope they dont have their firearms taken. Maybe they can make arrangements with the right peeps , maybe in the states here, to keepsake their firearms for them ...for a while. Most of Jim’s guns wouldn’t be on the list, maybe if he owns a 460WBY which is banned because of having over 10000 joules of energy…..along with this “guy I know” who has a PGW LRT3 50BMG…..can’t even call it a 30lb paperweight because it’s gotta stay in the safe.

Not all firearms are banned. The firearms that are banned are typically semi-auto, scarry looking black ones- you know the drill. Also, be aware that nothing has been confiscated yet even though the oic was in effect in 2020. Canada is a big place and they can’t figure out how to implement their plan and no-one is going to help them do it. The current rules don’t take effect until oct 2025, right after the next scheduled election which he likely won’t win. That sounds like selective enforcement. Neighbor rats on you, or a kitchen fire has the cops in your home, then they have you.

I’m not sure i understand your comment kermit. To be clear, i’m not an advocate of whats happening, just stating the facts.
And on those facts, not all handguns are banned, but yes, a vast majority. You can still use your .22 handgun for dispatch as long as you file the appropriate paperwork. PERMISSION FROM THE CROWN? Sounds like subjects instead of free men.

No, I can't say that I do. I did just find this site about a month ago. If one guy in Canada with a keyboard is living rent free in the minds of many, we have issues. And I'm not saying he's right, I'm just saying maybe you care too much. If he's happy, let him be. Personally I like my guns, and I'm glad the government isn't telling us what brands of traps are acceptable, but some people thrive in a more structured environment I guess You need to get out more. There are several states the dictate what kind of traps you can use. When they banned Footholds, instant kill traps like conibears, snares, etc. here in Colorado ,they said the only humane way to trap and the only safe traps were cage traps. Now they came back this year with the argument that cage traps/box traps should be illegal for bobcats. They found out that bobcats can be easily caught in cage traps. Some states dictate what style of traps can be used. be glad you live in Alaska (for now), the urban hikers with their off leash pets want to eliminate trapping asap. I won't be governed, they're welcome to come looking. I'm glad my state has a pro trapping stance and a very good trapping association, but yes the off leash dog crowd is absolutely obnoxious. I have dogs, and I have never leashed a single one, but I teach them young that free food or interesting smells are not free or interesting once they're wearing a trap, and I accept that if one day I lose track of one of my dogs and they take interest in a wolverine set with a 330 in it, I'm gonna be down a dog.

A bunch of 22 s on the list. Ukrainians will be glad to get them A lot of those are just toy plinkers, but a heck of a lot of fun to shoot! I’ve got friends that don’t even shoot that own those, bought them because they look “cool”. They don't even know they’re on the list.

It look like Canadians may be getting their US Constitution enumerated, God given gun rights recognized. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/12/full-11798-239885-screenshot_20241210_213540.png) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/12/full-11798-239886-aa1vfke2.jpeg) Keith Now that's funny. Don't let Boco see this. 51st. State, and it'll be a big one. Let them keep Quebec.

Not to many years ago Jim Shockey said no one needed a black rifle. I would not watch him myself. Why support a anti gun type.
