I would put your chances right there with Winchester making Model 12 shotguns in the US

not to beat around the bush , NO , I think there is no chance of them making it again look for a used one
maybe even re-barrel whatever you can find to make it what you want.

you have a better chance of another maker making them as they are way out of patten

It is sad that they stopped making them and it is hard to pay $2,000 for this rifle. . I was hoping to find a nice one for my nephew’s first deer rifle and Christmas present . He such a great kid who lives for hunting , trapping and fishing. We really need to keep and support these traditions going with the next generation.

for about 700-800 you can probably find a 30-06 and have it cut down to carbine and front sight put back on

but you can get him a nice bolt action rifle for less money and have a solid gun to use for a lot of years.

They're good rifles, I bought a few of the 760/7600's when you could find them at pawn shops for $500. I have a .300 savage, .30-06, and .243

They are around here in northern NY, but expect to pay premium price for them. They are very popular in the northeast, seems some gun manufacturer would build similar gun at a reasonable price. Would sell like hotcakes.

andrews 1958 I have a reg. 760 pump i bought in 1969 in 30-06 retired it in 2022 when i shot one of its biggest bucks .I can't walk the hills anymore , would love to see a young hunter get this gun. The history i have with this gun and the deer it shot could fill a small book. I fear what would happen to this gun when i pass.

They truly are nice rifles for hunting, but everyone became so obsessed with having a rifle that would shoot 1 moa at 500 yards even though where they hunt the farthest they could see was 100 yards that they quit buying them and so Remington stopped making them. Now people are interested in them because they aren't made anymore. If they were reintroduced they wouldn't be a 500 dollar rifle anymore and people would complain because Dad bought one in 1965 for 72.95 without stopping to think that you could also buy a new car fully loaded then for 3000 dollars and gas was 20 cents a gallon. Look at how many people clamored for the Marlin lever guns to come back and when they did they are better quality than ever but they are expensive and when they first came out they sold well but now they just kind of sit on the dealers shelves or at least they do around here.

What caliber are you looking for?

I have nothing clever to put here.

I'd be surprised if they make it again.

It has a small but faithful following.

I have one in 30-06 that belonged to my grandfather. I took over using it when I was 14ish.
Filled many freezers with it through the years. Don't carry it near as often as I used to. No need to get hit that hard to kill a swamp donkey.

Did they all have terrible triggers or just the ones I've shot?

if your expecting target rifle triggers , you will not get one

if you expect the same trigger your 870 has , you will get that and for deer inside 200 yards that really is very functional.
they can vary , but you should be able to get around a 4.5 pound trigger

Every deer tracker that hunts in the Adirondacks and New England states wants one. Thanks to the Benoit's, Hal Blood, and others. That is what has driven up the price, local gun dealer has one for sale in average condition $900.

I have two that I would never sell to anyone. Junk. Back in the 70's they were pretty stout. Over time, Rem cheapened them up. Bought a 270 for my wife and its been a headache since.

No doubt they have a strong following in a number of regions. But realistically, if your open to other options, in the 700-900 range, you can buy much better quality rifle, have a significantly better trigger system, and possible upgrade the stock and give your nephew an heirloom type gift.

As an example, I got a Howa 1500 action with adjustable trigger tension/creep chambered in 243. Put it on a Boyd all in 1 adjustable stock for my neighbors daughter as a gift. I hand load, so I dialed in a couple sweet loads on that rifle. But the adjustable stock will grow with her over the years. Its a sexy deer killing machine

And what's crazy about that is I remember buying a new Marlin 336 when I was about 14, it was $529 if I remember right
