If true, I hate to hear that PF...Heck, I can make any bar kick back. Those green coded bars & chains are lawyer BS too!

We use all yellow, and concentrate on preventing operator error, the real cause of kickbacks!

Cut a load filing my 16' car trailer except 3 ' on the front I left open for tools and kids to ride on. Pulled it with the tractor. basically down logs white oak cheery and walnut. I burn stuff in the outside burner I never would in an I door system. Wet, green, sappy pine and cheery no problem.

gor to say the new bar, chain, sprocket, opened muffler, plug, and tune up Just wow!! she was cutting fast. Made me think I should have got a 20" just to see how fast she would run with that. chances would sharpen faster and be cheaper but I would have to bend down more.

Sure was much more pleasant even with the gutted muffler vs the old one that came apart

The bar end was coming apart. The muffler also must have been rusted out bad enough it came apart the last time I used it as well. your reading comp is fine. More like my adhd brain is all over the place and my writing is hard to follow. And that's not even counting all my typos.

Eh..whatevers light and on sale😅.. Oregon seems to be whats available at most brick fronts. Ive got a couple chain mills and find the og stihl and husqvarna bars last the longest for the cost.

Bars should be flipped occasionally when the saw is being cleaned. Anytime a new chain is installed a new bar AND sprocket should be installed. And if you use bars that have a greaseable tip sprocket, grease it everytime you use the saw.

I've never seen a clutch sprocket break. Probably too worn.

All my saws have Stihl bars with the exception of one Oregon bar on a 261. I flip the bars every time I replace the chain. I have never had to put on a new sprocket. I cut anywhere from 15-25 cord a year.

Why or when is a new sprocket required to be replaced? I have a new one for each saw just never replaced.

My favorite bar is one that’s cutting straight. lol. Bars are the same as everything nowadays, made cheap. Learn how to dress your bar and they last longer because I think they run cooler. I use a shop belt sander to debur them, and the round sandpaper wheel on the side with the little shelf to dress em.
