That is us. We are celebrating Christmas tomorrow because my niece decided there is too much running around on Christmas Day. My wife has been livid all day while wrapping gifts and cooking. She finally let it out with a “Why are we doing this for them?” “They should be made to suffer like we did with our kids.” lol
To top it off our anniversary is tomorrow and it has been put on hold to accommodate tomorrow’s Christmas. It’s going to epic tomorrow.

I would stick with anniversary tomorrow and Christmas on Christmas day the 25th. Eh. We have Christmas on different days with different families too. Christmas day is for the family: me, wife, and our children. The other relatives get visited on different days. Just the way it is when people get married. Can't do it all in one day.

Noone by me has the room or the time. Everyone is married and has their own thing going on too. It's great that you can do it. We can't. I'm sure many others can't either.

After years of strife with my wife's siblings I told her they get one event a year, so choose wisely if you want me to go.
My three sisters sent an email out a few years back telling my brother and I that we were celebrating Christmas at a hotel two weeks before Christmas and to get pool side rooms reserved asap. I didn't respond. A few days later they asked on the texts if anyone had heard from me. My brother didn't answer as we had talked. A while later I sent, I'll be at Mom's on Christmas Eve starting at 3:00 pm as I have done since my birth. Have a Merry Christmas. Everyone showed up at Mom' for Christmas Eve and has continued to do so since. No problem. I am very traditional. LOL Stick to your guns.Very nicely done.

Why is a niece telling you what to do? Agreed. She needs to pay her dues.

So much family drama at Christmas...And the holiday has become a commercial mockery of the true reason for celebrating it. Opting out of the whole fiasco seems more sane...Color me "scrooge"

we are doing Christmas tomorrow also .
it is crazy running around to do it on the 24 and 25th
we used to get one house on the 24th and the other on the 25th , we would put on hundreds of miles and be out of our house for 2-3 days
much easier to pick a day before or after and get together
my sister in laws family does the 25th they still run a bunch
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yeah, as kids we had to make the rounds to all the grandparents, later add in inlaws, lot of running around....Now, everyone is gone, kids in Texas, usually just my wife and I , except this year, Miss Daisy went to Texas for an extended visit, I'm here with the dogs relaxing, lol I'll probably text merry christmas to a very short list of people I haven't fired....
