For the biggest part of my life, I’ve always had ford pickups,,, I never had any problems with a bad radiator…
I got a Chevy blazer for a heck of a price and a few months later,, I had to change the radiator… unfortunately it blew up on me,,,
I got a gmc jimmy which is identical to the blazer , and just this week,,, yup!! Radiator leak…. In the same exact area as the blazer…. Stop leak isn’t helping.
Are Chevy radiators garbage or just the luck of the draw??

Any thing Chevy is garbage. Stick with OLDER Fords, the new ones are almost as bad as a Chevy.

I've owned several Chevy's and have never replaced a radiator, I'm on the other side as Charles, Ford's are garbage no matter what the year, the only reason mechanics like Chevy is they like to BS while they repair them, if you want a reliable vehicle get a Honda or Toyota.

I think so. 6.0 gasser 6.6 Duramax at farm have both had new rads put in way sooner than should have. duramax has has had 3 in 240,000 I believe.

Chevys all my life...never replaced a radiator.....cept the 64 is currently in need of one ....original

My Silverado leaks coolant, but only when it feels like it, and not very much. Fine for a few months, then you leave it idle at the grocery store or something, and it says low coolant when you get back, dump a quart or so into the burp tank, and its fine for a few more months..

All.... radiators are Aluminum with a plastic tank .

The heating and cooling ..ovah time ,takes its toll.

And the radiator starts weeping where the Aluminum core is attached

To the the plastic tank on both sides.

My 2015 GMC 2500 went 8 years ....before it puked.

Haven't had any trouble with GM radiators, but I'm not fond of the plastic tanks they use in any of the brands.

Did they leak in the same spot? Chevy had a radiator that always leaked in a spot by some support where it bolted up to the the vehicle if I remember. I don't know which model vehicle off hand.

Rebuilt the radiator on my 66 about 30 years ago and it's still fine.

That's been my experience, had mostly Chevy's but also a few Fords most of my life. The folks at Maidenform Radiator Repair were on a first name basis with me.

The past thirty years I've had Chevy and GMC work trucks. They haven't been bad but lots of minor issues and a few major issues that add up to lots of extra costs.

I've had two Toyota Tundras since 2008. I'd still have the first one but a tree fell on it and totaled it.

Zero issues with either of them outside regular maintenance.

I had a new Chevy truck 15 years ago. A power steering cooler rusted out in no time at all. Mechanic simply bypassed it.

All newer radiators are junk. To much plastic in em. I went through afew on my old 98 f150 after a deer broke the factory one.

The 2021 Chevy 2500 I drive for work is on its 3rd radiator. I have 165,000 miles on the truck.

My 2001 Silverado hit a moose and still doesn't have any major issues, just a couple dents. Good trucks. For diesels I've always stuck to dodge, but for a gas powered truck I really like the Chevy's
