I got a woodstove fan you set right on top of stove to circulate heat. Heat powers the fan and just wondering if anyone has one and your views.

My son said he has one in the fish house and works well and does make a difference.

Have one on the go right now.

I’ve had a couple of the eco fans that sit on the stove. Only seem to get a year or so out of them. Went to a cheep Amazon one that clamps to the stove pipe and it’s been going strong for a couple seasons. Think I may get a second one to clamp above this one.

I have both types of the fans ( stove pipe and stove top) the stove top ones last longer if you don’t put them on the hottest part of the stove top, they work well if put on the corner of the stove and blow across the top of the stove. I have three stove pipe fans on our camp wood stove and they work great blow air towards the far corners of camp.

The bitterness of poor quality last a lot longer than the sweetness of low price

We a couple, one Eco FAn and another cheaper one. They do help move some air, not on the same level as an electric fan but they do help

Well I guess I am in my own corner on these fans. I have two but I don't think they're worth a rip.
They drive me nuts when the stove cools a bit and the fans slow down. They make a small ticking noise that wakes me up or is just generally annoying. I think they may move air about three feet.

I'm not a fan........

I'm with you. I have an electric fan near the stove, it moves a substantial amount of air, noise is a constant so I don't wake up and it probably uses $3 in electricy a year.

I have a Voda 4 blade fan on my Blaze King. I've had it around 3-4 years and it's perfect.

No noise at all. It shouldn't be expected to push as much air as a larger electric fan..that's like expecting a small sedan to haul what a semi can.

Since there are different brands available, with less blades, it stands to reason that possibly some are better quality.

MIne pushes warm air nicely for enough distance to put better value on the heat from the stove. It's sure a sight better than nothing. I have never regretted ordering mine, from Amazon. If some aren't happy with theirs, maybe it's a different brand. I'm just giving my experience with mine for several years so far.

Snowy, IMO I'd say go for it.

I have an off grid cabin and have a 3 blade fan on my woodstove that is at least 15 years old. I get to the cabin light the stove and the fan starts up soon. It sits on the back corner and blows across the stove. The only sound is the air movement and the hotter the stove the more air movement. It definitely makes a difference in a 20 x 24 cabin. My power is batteries and or small generator so an electric fan consumes too much power and they are noisier.

I had an old one that made noise when it started slowing down. I used it as an “add wood alarm”. Worked pretty good because I couldn’t sleep through it! lol I’d never buy another $100 one but I find the cheap stuff nes worth the trouble.

I put a electric 20" box fan that blows threw eleven two inch heat exchange tubes. I spliced in a thermostat switch and it kick on and off at about two hundred degrees.

We've got two of the eco-fans out of Canada. Get about ten years outta them Yes,they move some air...not enough to make a big difference. They slow way down with the stove heat. Good "add wood" alarm.. Wouldn't do it again.

I tried it out today at the line shack. Not noisy started turning after just a few minutes and was more impressed with it than not impressed. It will be a good tool when I'm there and it does make a difference.

I use just a few small partial pieces of wood, so it didn't get to hot in the shack. Today was a full sun day and with all the windows I have learned early on not to get to hot a burn going with all that natural heat coming in the window.

It was just about 90 degrees in there by afternoon. Lol

I have 15 foot of glass floor to ceiling in a 18 foot wall on the south side of my house. I knew you were going to like the glass.

Any air movement from the stove will make a difference so that is a plus. I have only used mine once and it does move air which is a positive thing. I'm going to hang a feathah in about 10 to 12 feet away and see if there is movement from the fan the next time, I'm at the line shack.
