I was looking online to see what's available in 300 savage ammo. Not much. By far the most available load is hornady superformance 150 grain. Anyone use these before? I'm looking for a review on how they'd perform on whitetails. Thanks

that load looks to be almost 308win for velocity and bullet.
about 100-150fps less
I expect it will do just fine on white tail

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Sorry if I wasn't clear... I know the caliber is fine for whitetail but was looking for opinions on that particular Hornady bullet... as far as how it performs. Does it expand well, etc

I've always had good luck with Hornady bullets on deer size game! I load 150tys in my son's 300 savage.

Anything.30 caliber is gonna be more than enough regardless of the bullet. I have a .300 savage and I shoot the blue box federal premium out of it on the rare occasion I shoot it, I think they're 150's. I got it as a brush gun for black bears, and it serves that purpose just fine when I don't feel like using a .30-30

I reload Hornady Interlock bullets in several calibers and have had great performance with these.
I looked up the Hornady offering for 300 Savage (factory loads) and could only find one load, 150 gr SST bullets.
The SST make a significant wound channel.

What is good performance to one, stinks to another. Deer are not really that hard to put down with a half decent bullet placement.

My uncle had a 300 Savage semi-auto. Really heavy rifle, heavy barrel. I think it was a Remington. He killed a lot of deer with it.

My wife wants me to wear a bracelet that belonged to her grandfather. It says, "Do Not Resuscitate".
