Canadas election next year will likely give them what the U.S got this year (a total 180 from their last Prime minister).

Population determines where most of the U.S House of Representatives come from. I would guess the populated areas of Canada are liberal and the Dems would then take over the House if Canada becomes a State. Let Canada enjoy their own Liberal politicians.

Canada, like the US just did, is going more conservative. Each Canadian province would likely become a state.

6 of the 10 Canadian provinces nearly always have conservative governments. 2 others often do. This would help conservatives in the US Senate.

The number for the members of the US House of Representatives is set at 435. Each state gets at least 1 Representative in the House. This would give the conservatives 6 to 8 more representatives, compared to the liberals 2 to 4 more. If Canada, joined soon, while the Republicans still control all three branches of the US government, the Republicans would have charge of the redistricting. They could build the districts to favor conservative candidates.

If the conservatives do a good job, as I hope they will, they will pick up the support of more voters. The huge win of adding Canada to the US, should skyrocket voter support of the conservatives.

Canadians would gain more freedom and pay roughly 60% less taxes as part of the US. They would be safe from Chinese and Indian take over. Their culture would change very minimally. Their wealth would likely increase greatly.
