Mine varies from day to day. Electricity of course is right up there. Our last bill computes to $3 a day for lektric. Lights, hot water, etc.

Internal combustion engine.
Hydraulics since I was 20 yrs into the garbage hauling.
Today it's diesel engines. 420 HP Cummins in a delivery truck zipping around Omaha.

I suppose the two things I invented for myself.. Turning a hand crank meat grinder into one that is powered by a one horse motor. Belt driven with a jack shaft to slow it down.

Next is a sausage stuffer, made out of aluminum irrigation pipe, the bottom of an aluminum bean pot and a old time car jack.

It holds 40 pounds, and I run 1400 pounds through it one deer season when I was still processing deer for neighbors, and 'townies'.

Worked with a guy who used to say when growing up.....in late 40s...50s...dynamite was sold in feed stores to farmers to clear stumps and open up main ditches for field drainage ditches getting land ready to farm.....he remembers it was always on hand and father would give him some often to practice with. Funny how something dangerous was put to productive use and kids learned early respect and caution...said he never heard of accidents..........today kids wear helmet to ride bikes....i think people were smarter before.....
