159 dems in the house voted against the LAKEN RILEY ACT. It says that illegals that commit violent crimes will be deported ASAP. It also gives victims and their families the right to sue the dept of homeland security for pain and damages caused.

I agree. They obviously can only be a politician, they don't have enough intelligence to do anything else. Sad thing is most will get re elected.

Surely there are some conditions within the bill that exclude suing the govt under some circumstances. If an illegal slips across the boarder without encountering boarder patrol and then kills someone, I dont see why the feds should be held liable for that. THat illegal could kill a homeless guy and the family of the homeless guy is gonna get paid out $200 million dollars - of yours and my tax money

This Act may be cited as the “Laken Riley Act”.

SEC. 2. Findings; sense of Congress.

(a) Findings.—Congress finds that the Nation—

(1) mourns the devastating loss of Laken Riley and other victims of the Biden administration’s open borders policies;

I'm glad that some of you have choices. In WI the 5 Republicans all voted FOR, the 2 Democrats both voted AGAINST. The Democrats represent Milwaukee and Madison. You couldn't get them out of office with dynamite.

If that's the case, the bill should have been a slam dunk for all legislators.

And the reason they can block legislation is cause they stick together like glue ...unlike the other party.

Sounds like the bill passed in the House with all republicans and 37 democrats in favor. Now, it needs to pass in the senate.

I think illegal aliens, who commit serious crimes in the US, should be immediately executed after conviction, so they can't come back and offend again.

Saw Fetterman (D) from PA doing an interview about this. He was asked if there are 7 Dem Senators willing to oppose their party and vote for this bill. He responded that if there are not 7 Dems willing to vote for this, that this would explain why Dems lost in Nov.
