Our sons took our daughter out to dinner for her birthday so we kept the grandson. He was being all boy last night in a dare devilish way. He pushed a step stool over so he could climb up on the couch but then came back to the stool and started rocking it with his feet. He then stood up on the stool and was trying to rock it while he was standing on it. I could see him getting bolder and finally it happened. The stool tipped, he spun bounced, slid down the front of the couch and rolled. Other than being a little shocked, no big deal. He got right back to his feet. Lolli lost her mind and now I am incapable of watching the grandbaby. frown Bummer

You are disqualified until she needs you to babysit. Like my mom used to say. Boys will be boys.

Very similar circumstance here, though outcome a little more serious. Our grandson forgot to put his superman cape on when he launched himself into the end table. Next morning he was stumbling around like he was drunk. Off to the frequent visitor program at the doc, he had a concussion.

Lol so typical. I always warned the kids of the danger and why I said don't. Then of course they would do it. The wife and I Handel things differently. she would run out to stop them. Me I tell her just sit back and watch if it's not life threatening they have been warned and told not to. Sure enough they get hure and com in crying looking for comfort. I just ask what happened they tell through sobs then I say didn't I tell you that would happen they respond yes, didn't I tell you not to do that " yes", so you did it any and got hurt! yes. So do I need to spank you for not listening. Nooo with head shake so you learned your lesson yes.

When to small to talk well and they would fall mom runs up excitedly O my are you ok. Kid reacts heavy cry and upset. Kid falls and I'm there and when they still have the shok look on their face and before full cry breaks out its your ok come on get up. And they would get up and get back to playing. They react off parents reactions.

Kids need both xx and xy approach to parenting. Kids missing one or the other very often have issues in life.

United we stand.

Incidents like that are why my sons tell me the only time I can watch the grandkids is if the homeless guy down the street is not available. grin

My Grandma With a wooden leg used to tell any Grandkid that was crying on the ground: " Well come here I'll pick you up" so they'd get up, come to Grandma for a hug.

My wife would kiss the grandkids booboos to make them better, except for once. My 3 year old grandson said "Grandma my penis hurts will you kiss it and make it better." I think it is going to be one of my favorite stories when he becomes a teenager.

Wait till you let him slice his finger good with his first pocket knife. Don’t matter that the lesson is never forgot. Woman will still come to near to a stroke.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

you mean like this one? Boy was skinning a squirrel. I can't figure out how or why he would have been using so much pressure.
