Doubt it. If they are from Oregon they would have all that stuff.

It shouldn't sound believable in a decent world, but it sounds perfectly believable because we have liberals.

I doubt it. There will be many rumors in days to come. Some might even be political.

I live in Asheville NC where Hurricane Helene devastated many communities and highways. You wouldn’t believe the rumors that were circulating. Many were outright hateful, and Trump even promoted a few himself. He couldn’t help so he ridiculed those who did. Our Rep legislator came to our rescue. FEMA has done so much for our citizens.

Apparently the fire trucks and crews were stopped and inspected before being allowed to be used to fight fires for safety, rather than emissions.

"All repairs were completed the same day with the exception of a couple because of parts but turn around was early next day," CAL Fire Spokesperson via email.

“These inspections ensure all engines on an emergency scene are equipped, mechanically sound, and able to respond. This ensures our number one priority of a safe deployment for our firefighters,” the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office said.

CAL Fire tells KATU News the safety checks are related to mechanical operations such as brakes."

It would be easy to call the fall City fire department and ask…..

160 should know if fire trucks need to stop at weigh stations……..
Don’t think so

I have no idea what goes on in California but in northern ontario if we are fighting a fire we get water from a frog pond. And they are running out of water and there is a hole ocean in front of them this is just ridiculous in the eyes of a person that lives in the boreal forest. These people are just dummmmmmm.

Fake. Any other vehicle from the other 49 states wouldn't have to show some sort of certification for to drive in California, I dont know why a fire truck in an emergency would be any different.

Also, Sacramento is a long way from the border. If they were going to o be stopped for some sort of emissions issue, surely they would have been stopped closer to the Oregon California border.

I would suspect it is like any other large wildland fire incident when a piece of equipment arrives on the incident it has to be inspected for mechanical soundness, any damage must be documented, and equipment is inspected. This done for two reasons the first is to insure that the equipment meets the relevant safety standards and that it is properly equipped for the incident, it also provides protection to the agency providing the equipment because if the equipment is damaged, or supplies used up then the incident will pay to repair that damage and will replace expendables used up and if nonexpendable items are damaged, lost or stolen they will be replaced as well in most cases.

It's a people thing. Everyone says they wants to help if they can. Then you get the few people always blaming saying why are our fire units. ffghting their fire damaging equipment my tax dollars paid for.
Plenty of that talk happens right here on Tman all time. Just depends on the issue and who supports what.
Just the logistics of something like those fires people can't get their heads around.
