Extra toughs will grip on a wet metal roof,,,,,….i was happy to find that out…. They shine on wet surfaces, that was their intended application. Also, much like a bunny boots they have a wetsuit effect if you step over the tops and they fill with water it warms to body temperature pretty fast

I get my xtra tuffs a bit large and use one or two layers of felt insoles Do you climb hills or use them otherwise on land? That is where my complaints come from. They used to work very well for the role and now not so much. I wear them for knocking about every day unless it’s too cold. Don’t like them for hiking and for climbing they suk. Harbor ramp at minus tide is bad enough

Mine were solely for hunting. Scrambling up and down/sideways on hillsides. I have changed over to Katahuna micro spikes and hiking boots.
.The insulated version used to suit me well, seasonally, and now they are mushy, poorly fitted garbage. I like the armor pro 10" highs for that, whether I'm working or hunting. They're supportive and tough, and they keep your feet as dry as a short boot can. For southeast they have enough insulation to make a decent winter boot too.

I haven't read the rest of the replies above, but the first that were made overseas had problems, the current ones are very close to the originals, hard to really tell any difference. I have several of the new pairs scattered in various places across the North Pacific.

Like otter 3006, I have LaCrosse for hunting, and Xtratuff for the boat. By a size larger, put a flat felt insole in the for extra insulation.

In addition to the left insole, I used a sock-like neoprene boot liner, in addition to added warmth, I turn it inside-out every evening to dry any condensation, otherwise just like any other rubber boot your feet will always be damp..
