Can you show us how you tie a knot in it with the snare/cr already assembled?

Most likely it will slip, but at least it shows intent of following the regulation, a small hog ring is too big for cable, still think a small cage clip crimped on is easiest and cheapest of the purchased option without having to make anything, but the trapping or tie wire is a viable option . should be able to find them in any ag supply store, or any place they sell rabbit supplies...

Seeing as she is an archer and might have some on hand, perhaps a nock point would be sufficient…?

Since these are one and done temp uses anyway, I can think of several options. A rubber band, cut in half, then double looped overhand knot, pull the ends tight? A drop of marine epoxy? A drop of silicone caulk? Wet the cable and apply a drop of gorilla glue......wet so if foams up. A dab of great stuff?

A bigger fix would be to replace the universal twist on wire whammy. I've got a couple dozen of those that will not twist on to any wire I've tried. Not #9, not #12. It's as if they repel them. If forced to use one today, I'd hit it with a couple wraps of electrical tape.

14 ga wire will work no problem. Bend a U or V in the end and crimp it on the cable. Cut it off once it is crimped on. I have done that on coyote snares and never had one move. It is cheap, easy and works.

The electrical tape is a good idea, so is a drop of epoxy. No where in your rules does it say it has to be indestructible, it just says a stop. So what if it gets chewed off or trashed after the catch? The cable will be destroyed after a catch.

Any wire about that size it the way to go for an added stop on a cable. A thin wire coat hanger even. I thought everyone knew this. crazy

If you average the cost over several years, wouldn't it be better to move to another state?

I always purchased my CR' from Newt the owner of Snare One located in New Jersey I order PA COMPLIANT CR'S Iin the length size of cable plus any extra options I wanted and within about 3 or 4 days they whereat my front door Witha few shots of spray paint I was in business for fox or coyote And in some cases I am not sure the paint was needed If you are planning on getting into CR'S in a big way then building your own can sav e you some money It you only need 50 to100 from time to time it might just be easier to buy them built to your spec. Also if you are making sets for coyote I highly recommend the barrel swivels And from my experience they also make it easier to hang the loop for fox also
