Everyone once in awhile, a person has to laugh at themselves. Had a couple packs of coyotes sounding off lately, so made some sets in my back field. When I was setting my favorite square jaws, I was feeling pretty good that after all these years my hands are still strong - no arthritis- lol

Well, couple mornings later I HAD a double. Both pullouts. Felling pretty dumb, I knew I should have changed those springs out years ago. Pulled them and they hit the bench. Upgraded springs ( thanks MTP) and readjusted. Dang, what a reality check. Those dang levers got awfully tough to push down. Stings like heck when you snap your fingers in there too. One of them was my demo trap. I would stick my fingers in it when talking to people to show it doesn’t hurt. Ya, I’m not doing that with these upgraded springs

The only thing worse than losing........Is QUITTING!

I've replaced springs on a lot of older traps, and probably should do some more. It's one of those jobs I like to do in the spring and summer when you can do a few at a time, whenever you get a chance to sit at the bench for a few minutes.

I bought a bunch of old rubber jaw traps about a year ago off a guy. I am still going through and changing springs and rubber. Did 6 more this evening. Only about 4 dozen to go and I’ll finally be there. I’ve had the procrastination bite me too!
