So what did Trump take away as far as guns.
He is responsible for the bump stock ban the directly infl the atf to go after pistol braces. Both eventually got shot down and a log of people did get to register sbrs for free.
Some will make every excuse to absolve Trumps actions. like he knew it would not sta d or he stopped if from going to congress and passed into law. And they are ultimately correct those things happened.
But I don't buy for a sec it was planed like that. Why because of his " take the guns first due process latter" and I don't like the idea of them" referring to suppressors.. Those two things show he doesn't care or understand our rights.
Bump stocks and pistol braces are NOT 2A issues. They are commerce issues.
Let's say cars are a constitutional right. Then let's say someone put NO2 on their car and killed a whole bus of kids.
As a reaction the president at the time makes NO2 illegal to own. Would that be an attack on that constitutional issue?
Now I do disagree with Trumps view on rd flag laws, but I do believe, like all presidents sometimes do, he spoke before being educated on the issue. Time will tell on this issue.
I am not disagreeing with you on not liking banning bump stocks and pistol braces, but those items have zero to do with 2A. It was low hanging easy commerce fruit to appease the emotional masses that he knew would get overturned in court. It also averted attention to an add-on and not banning of a firearm.
Trump was able to grin and say I tried, honest I tried, as the SC overturned the issue. Notice how Trump did not express his "disappointment" at the SC decision and the issue died.
