Anyone prefer Canadian whiskey besides me? Bourbon is too bold. Canadian seems more smooth.

I used to like MacNaughton but it is not available where I now live. Canadian Club has been my favorite. Just noticed that Seagram’s VO is now cheaper than CC. It is lighter in color so my drinks look milder. I mix with water.

Which o our Canadian members prefer?

I'm not a whisky drinker, but just a question; isn't "Canadian" whisky just any blended whisky, not necessarily whisky made in Canada?

"Canadian whiskey" is not Canadian if it is spelled with an "e" in Whiskey . . . it's Whisky . . . Canadians . . . what can you say . . . Eh?

Windsor is my "Utility" whiskey. I like most Canadian whisky and have several favorites as good "Driving Whisky".

I have nothing clever to put here.

Canadian whisky is kinda like drinking light beer...no flavor.

I much prefer bourbon, but whatever floats your boat.

Windsor changed their recipe to be smoother. Uh

Yes, the recipe for Windsor Canadian Whisky has changed since Prestige Beverage Group acquired the brand in 2020. [/quote]

I started with Windsor in the early 90's and then switched to Tequila. By the time I switched back to Windsor around 2000 my taste buds were likely gone anyway.

I thought Seagram 7 was the mainstay way back. I have come to the realization that Crown Royal set a new standard!
Thank you Canada!

You see, we have a lot in common!

Bourbans too sweet and scotch taste like pine sol. CC water for me. Need to try the reserve sometime. I dont mind a rye though. Ive had the “bootlegged” Templeton before and liked it. Seemed to have a little extra snort too.

My go to is GIBSON’s finest. Smooth, flavorful and not as sweet as some Canadian whiskies.

Canadian Whisky should always be measure with a - Index finger outstretched to a pinky finger marker on your shot glass.
There is a fine Canadian Scotch from Cape Breton, The Dark Glen 16 yr from Gleann Dubh from the Glenora Distilleries

CC is below standard for a good canadian whisky. Crown royal is good, wisser deluxe, forty creek, and a few others are in my liking but haven't had a drink of whisky in years.

Crown royal and four roses bourbon here. Takes me awhile to finish a bottle. several months. Have one or the other on hand depending on my mood when Im in the liquor store. I have a glass of wine several times a week. In the summer I drink a beer now and then.

I can’t count how many people I have converted from CR to CC in blind taste test. I call CC the original import.

Yes, BV is Canadian. I use to order a BV press on occasion. BV with a press of water and press of 7up off the bar hose.

We buy a bottle or two every year when we go up fishing. Can't find it in the states. Is it even available outside of Canada?

Word of warning if Mel ever visits your trapping cabin,,,,that the TOP of the Wiser will go right into the wood stove. Because there will be no use to it after the first drink is poured.

There are some actual rye whiskeys from western Canada. Canada's laws on classification isn't as strict as other nations so a Rye from Canada doesn't necessarily mean its the same as an American Rye

Kirkland Canadian whiskey from Costco is quite good in my opinion. Dirt cheap for now. I’ll be buying several handles this week prior to tariffs kicking in. $19 a handle approx.

Which o our Canadian members prefer?

Back in the day when I drank whiskey, CC & water was my favorite. No hangover with that mixture. Now, it's just a Coors Light sometimes.

Canadian whiskey isn't bad if you run low on meskin brandy. 7 & 7 was one of my favorite drinks until I tried 7 & Dew.

Don’t drink that! It’s for cleaning traps and tools. Drive to a different liquor store and get CC.

When I was much younger Black Velvet, Canadian Mist or Crown Royal with a splash of 7up or Ginger ale really hit the spot.

I enjoy Whiskey!!
Forty Creek is a good whiskey. Gibson's Finest is nice too.

Most whiskey drinkers I know would only drink Canadian Club if someone else is buying. lol

I like the Crown Royal Vanilla stuff. I don’t think Vanilla is considered fruit flavored.
