tie the dog up or find some trails to use a snare on.

Train your dog to leave it alone. Walk your dog in the back where the fox doesn’t go and let him get caught. Use that same smell up front and hope your dog learned not to mess with it

For me snares work when they are moving fast not slow. A dirt hole approach would be a cautious one by a fox.

If you had an aerial photo of the property that would help.

Any chance someone can watch the dog a few days?

What sort of distance are we talking here?
If it’s not too far a squeaker or some subtle flagging may bring him over.
In land sets and trapping techniques there is a whole chapter on drawing animals long distances with call lures. Might be worth a look.
If you are useing rubber jaw or laminated traps you could let your dog get caught like sportsman 94 said. He may eventually learn to leave dirt holes alone completely.
Just my 1 1/2 cents

I need to draw him 100 yards off his normal route, the wind is never in my favor but maybe I will make a set about 150 yards away but it will get the scents taken by the wind. He went 50 yards from my set but never smelled it cause the wind was bad

Hard to do that effectively, even with LDC lures. Trapping any beaver or know anyone close that is? Get some beaver carcasses and put em out close to where you want to try to catch em. Cover them up because of our exposed bait rule.

Drag that rabbit from where that fox is running to where you have traps set. Chop the rabbit in half near one of your traps and stuff half down the hole. Drag the other half to another trap and repeat.
If it's a flat set pin the rabbit down so they have to move their feet around trying to pull it free.
Don't forget to cover the rabbit so it can't be seen from above
I pick up roadkill rabbits for bait

The dog dosnt go back there, I got a squirrel yesterday so I will use that but I can’t drag it through the yard cause my dog hunts squirrels so that’s a sure fire way for her to get caught

Do you own a cage trap? If so, put it exactly where you’ve seen the fox and put an egg in the back of the cage. Just your everyday store bought chicken egg will work. If you catch your dog in it, beat on the trap and scare her enough and she won’t even go near it again.
The trick to trapping is putting the trap where they step. You aren’t drawing an animal 150yds off its normal travel route.

why do guys think they can draw a fox or coyote to somewhere they dont want to walk even in a open field drawing a fox or coyote 50 feet is very rare "SET ON SIGN" keep your dog in the back yard or on a leash and you should have it in a day or two

The only way to be reasonably successful at drawing canines that far is with a big baitpile, and that will draw every dog in the county, defeating your purpose. Possibly with dragging a carcass, I have done that successfully for wolves by dragging a carcass behind the snowmachine, but again you are going to draw all canines, including your dog.

Best bet is to make your dog trap shy, or keep it penned up while you have traps set. Since it sounds like you have a limited area you can trap and can't go find a different part of the fox's territory that it frequents and dogs don't.

Set your traps where the sign is and keeps your dog in at night. Check your traps in the morning and cover them with 2x2 squares of plywood during the day, remove at night.

The best location is where they are, not where you want them to be, I am an expert on setting traps at the latter, always finding the former after I have wasted some time.
