Revert back to crank windows etc. and 1950 standard equipment. I would buy the plain jane if I could. I bought a new one last year and ordered it plain jane as I could and saved.

I bought a new 2021 Ford Ranger a few years ago. Extended cab 4x4 with 6 foot bed. I intended to trade for a new one after 3years. Ford decided they weren't going to offer the extended cab anymore. The only Ranger you can get now is a four door.

I don't understand why. I see lots of extended cab midsize trucks on the road.

I have a 2022 sierra and it has a lot of features I like. Heated seats, heated steering, trailer camera views while driving, the back up camera is awesome for hooking up the boat trailer.
I like the light test feature for trailers too. Console has plenty of space, got lots of usb and other ports to charge with or use. Connecting a phone is easy, the navigation is great, touch screen is nice and big.

What do I wish? It wasn’t so expensive, and maybe get me some better mpg but other than that I like what I have.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Somebody named Toyota ought to adopt the idea that was used with Volkswagon back in the day with the Beetle. Just make the same exact basic car and truck year after year. Thinking Corolla and the Taco. Lock it down and make it as reliable as possible. If and when it ever wears out, just go get another. Simplifies everything, including parts inventories and repairs.

The more features, gadgets and gizmos I seen them larding on to the new vehicles.........the less it makes me want to buy one.

I suspect a John Deere 4020 would still be their best seller if they still made one.

I think if that basic stuff would really sell they'd already be doing it. Most people want the gadgets and gizmos so that's what they make. What really blows my mind is that price doesn't seem to matter. People keep buying them.

The lease plan for management is impressive. It's cheap varies on vehical chosen the price. AND Ford covers the insurance and fixed any and every on them. I have two neighbors that were company at Ford that just retired. They put their kids in company lease vehicle and the savings on insurance alone paid the lease cost.

I will never buy another pickup unless they under coat it. How many pickups do you see rusting out undernearh? Also want to see a V-8 that gets better gas mileage.Would like to see a longer warranty and would like to see manufacturers use better quality steel.

How many people have said go ahead and put all the creature comforts possible in a truck NOT in my way of thinin they do it cause then ya have to pay the price to but it What I see here is that people just want a real truck that can be reliable not loaded with stuff and that will do the job a truck should, I remember trucks ,new ones sold for under 4k HayDay said it best Make a truck keep it a truck not a bunch of stuff in it and just make it better each year.

I want two, a full size, preferably one ton, diesel with a 8 foot bed or flatbed option and a compact truck that is actually compact like the old Toyotas. Both with manual transmission and transfer case, roll up windows, locking differentials front and rear, tow package and plenty of ground clearance. Most of these new trucks have way too little ground clearance, while the ergonomics of the body make it hard to reach into the bed (which I see is a common complaint here). Also no carpet, rubber kit or simply bedlinered floor boards and waterproof seats.

Truck sales have slowed with high prices, higher interest rates and insurance rates going up. Auto makers have painted themselves into a corner, wouldn't surprise me if some of them go broke.

I agree with everyone on here saying simple is better. I've got a 1994 GMC Sierra K1500. 5 speed, 4.3 V6, standard cab, 8ft box, no A/C, crank windows, bench seat, AM/FM radio no cassette player, (I pulled the fuse on it anyway because it skipped channels constantly). It's about as bare bones as you can get. It's got 151,000 miles on it and I've had it for about 19 years. I only put around 4k on it a year. Bought it with 96k on it.

I do wish it was an extended cab and an auto would be nice at times. The 4.3 is kinda gutless so you're always starting out in first. Extended cab simply because when I put my guns or bow in the cab it doesn't leave much room. I'd trade the 8ft box for 6.5ft with an extended cab as that's still enough room for me. It's a little rusty but the frame looks to be solid yet. I look at the prices on new or used trucks and just shake my head.

My wife and I go to the Caribbean every year and I see the little trucks over there and wish we had something like that here. All this electronic crap is a joke along with the EPA regulations.
