Wanted to give y'all the back story on this dog posted further up in the thread...A family friend called August before last and said he was suffering major damage to his Indian corn patch and wanted me to take out the coon doing the harm.

Upon surveying the corn patch it quickly became evident that there wasn't a single coon track, or any coon sign at all to be found for that matter, but there was plenty of coyote sign amongst the pulled down corn stalks, and many corn ears that had the shucks tore off & eaten.

Immediately called KDFWR right from that corn patch, and had the landowner request a crop damage exception...Game warden called me later that afternoon and give me 30 days, with the option of a extension if needed...Also asked if I would be using traps or snares and I replied both...He then said make sure your traps & snares are tagged, and wished me luck.

2 days later this mange infested dog made her last attempt at further crop damage, and there were no more problems for the farmer...Undoubtedly, her poor condition and the fact she was nursing pups made her desperate enough to go for a unconventional food source.

Work with your game departments, they really want to help out if you follow the rules.

Guess I'll just have to go back and try again!
