Boy those guys working in the private sector to pay my salary and fund the military were scum.

Didn't it take a long time for Vietnam Vets to receive medical benefits from Agent Orange due to Government bureaucracy?

1. I didn’t serve, neither branch would have me, total bs if you ask me but they make the rules.

2. I’m struggling to see the courage when a bs order comes and the guys with the guns solution is to quit.

I thought us having the right to express our opinion was one of the very reasons to serve.And what does "admit to not serving" mean?Are those who didnt join the military supposed to be embarressed?My Dad came home from fighting with the 6th Marines in the South Pacific in WWII with TWO Purple Hearts.He was wounded on Bouganville and on Okinawa.The LAST thing he would do is pat himself on the back for his service,,and mock those who did not.

Many executive orders signed & more are coming in many areas.

Upstate, if your father is still alive. Thank him for me. Him and other veterans are the reason you are here today. I know I'm thankful. That's why I chose to serve. And yes, I want the world to know I served. To me, there is no greater honor. Like it or not.

I wonder what the next order they don't like will be? You take that oath, if the order is legal, you do it. You give up the right to do as you please. If you want to do as you please then stay a civilian. Thats not a secret your unaware of when you enlist. There untold numbers of accounts of military personal having to obey really bad orders. This one was no different.

Does serving or not serving have anything to do with recognizing the fact that bad but legal orders are legal?

Trying to figure out your sense of superiority , and arrogance against people who didn't serve.., For whatever reason... so we owe our undying gratitude to you because you did...

People have died to make this country what it is.We have alot to be thankful for their sacrifices, some of them paying the ultimate price for our freedoms.Yes to me they are special people.

A mandate is not an order.
And yes I served under President Reagan and I will never look down on anyone who didn't serve

Most folks I know that served are humble about it.They did it for un selfish reasons.They are not braggadocoius and self important,,and certainly do NOT mock those that didnt sign up for whatever reason.They dont EXPECT thanks and pats on the back.They deserve it,,but do not demand it.Says a lot about SOMEONES character.You seem to have a chip on your shoulder,,and expect anyone that did not serve to kiss your butt,,and thats not an honorable look for a service member.Thats MY opinion that I am ENTITLED to.Your welcome.I will not make another post in this thread because I have respect for most service members and dont want the thread axed.Have a great day.

You know I hate the word civilian, prefer citizen....And that's not taking one bit of honor away from a veteran either.

This is not really related but I'll throw this out there. Word is out that Obama is cheating on Michelle. He has been seen with Jennifer Aniston here and there. Probably why she didn't go to Jimmie Carters funeral with Barack.

Hello to everyone one who stated their opinions. I appreciate that you did. I certainly got your attention. No, you don't owe me nothing. What you owe is all veterans as a whole. Yes, veterans are special and yes a great deal of pride comes with it.
So, the next time you see a vet missing a limb or tbi or some other disability or simply wearing a cap/ pin expressing their time in service. Please tell them their not special. And how their time in service didn't contribute to anything you have or was able to do in your life.
