My question. Eveyone I regarding and wanting To treat the cartels like we did other terrorist groups.... Question is will the same powder vacuums happen is we do the same things ? Could things become worse ?

That's an excellent question. There will definitely be a power vacuum in the cartels, unless the cost of operation for the people wanting to take over the business is to high.
There's a great YouTube interview channel called "The Connect: With Johnny Mitchell" where Johnny interviews high ranking ex, cartel members, US drug lords, Mafia leaders and gang leaders. Many of the ex cartel members talk of exactly how they rose as power vacuums were created by them, other cartels the US and Mexican government official's. Most of the high ranking, very successful ex criminals have extremely high intelligence. Most become very excellent businessmen.
The crime lords are smart enough to stop if they themselves start being killed off by the US military. They can make money in legal ways. Without very smart people at the top, a large crime operation can't function.
The multitudes of small gangs that replace them won't have the power to bribe police and politicians. They won't be able to effectively transport mass quantities of drugs into the US. Mexico will get more violent, but the US will be safer.
If we continue to kill off any criminals that have the brains to create and hold together a large organization. We will have much less drug and human trafficking problems, but the problems will never end, no matter what we do. Legalization of everything isn't a satisfactory answer either.
