g smith trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Mt.	I did but quit as they were not really that much better to eat and more trouble to dig and yield was so so . You can ride a fast horse slow but you can't ride a slow horse fast .

MikeC trapper M Joined: Feb 2009 EC Indiana	Austrian Cresent seem to do better than the French variety. Rose Finn Apple is very good also, they and the AC have some huge yields. Nothing like Kennebec but better than some other varieties. You get a yellow potato with out the frustration of Yukon Gold. mike

1oldforester trapper 1 Joined: Dec 2006 Michigan, Alpena County	Yukon Gem are a yellow potato that as good or better than Yukon Gold. Plus, they yield better and store very well. One of our standards. We also grow a variety of russets called Cariboo. Good bakers and also store very well.
