Probably cut the cost of new home construction several percentage points if care was taken to manage the amount of waste.

I actually framed my entire trapping shed with discarded perfect 2x4 lumber at the local landfill.

"The Canadian government does bid out lumber cutting through programs like BC Timber Sales, which auctions public timber to the highest bidder. This process helps the government determine stumpage rates and prove to the US that timber harvesting isn’t subsidized. However, logging companies in Canada don’t receive direct subsidies, and it has been proven multiple times in WTO court that stumpage fees are not considered subsidies."

This is the benefit of Free trade, some areas of the world can produce something cheaper than other areas for a variety of reasons. Tariffs are used to counter this.

Dirt, The US Lumber Coalition has done a very good job demonizing Canada's lumber. I understand why they want to but they're a powerful lobby group and not every talking point is factual that's for sure. Now they're mad at wall street for their take on the lumber tariff issue.

I'm still waiting to hear how we keep playing games with beef.

I think this may be the answer to Savell's question.

I just went out and bought 4 years worth of everything because the tariffs kick in on the 1st. I just dodged the 25% inflation that's coming, and I want to give a shout out to my northern neighbors for the tip.

August 19, 2024.

"The U.S. Department of Commerce today raised tariffs on imports of Canadian softwood lumber products from the rate of 8.05% to 14.54% following its annual review of existing tariffs."

You already have been being screwed by gay Biden.

Well, I don't know, hard to say. Both can take it to extremes. There was a bar in Winnipeg called The Gay Cavalier. They had to change their name after getting "flamed" when a new meaning of "gay" came out. In all fairness, that number reflects the gayness of the general public. I sure hope it's a heck of a lot lower on this site and trappers in general. There was only one weird guy at a trappers convention that I'd consider questionable, he was quickly escorted off the grounds by the cops......lol. Some may remember the talk about him at the NTA national in Sioux Falls last summer. No, It wasn't Boco, he didn't make it.

If the trumpster would just hold off the tariffs for little while(few months)

until we can hold an election

We would be a lot less gay,,,,,a lot less!!!

If he hammers us with tariffs before an election,,,,,,the politicians will turn us super gay

I wasn’t going to say anything but my family said otherwise. So here it goes. Bruce-T I wrote a comment a few pages back and you made fun of my sentence structure. Before you go and judge people you should know something about the person you’re making fun of. I have overcome several learning disabilities, including dyslexia. So please for the sake of people in my same situation keep your comments to yourself. Your apology is accepted but please in the future be careful. I tried to be nice as I could my family read this before I posted it. I hope it passes inspection.

I just looked back thru everything and the only thing I could find was where I said (quote)we just had more important things to learn then perfect sentence structure.......Has nothing to do with you but me talking about people such as myself not using perfect sentence structure.
