The Duke 850 held while the 750s held on for a battle but lost. I think they were too deep into the snowmobile trail. These were set about 3 weeks ago, 3-5” of snow since and we’ve been travelling over them. Dukes pan and trigger were bent but otherwise no damage to the trap or anchor system. 1/4” chain, wolf shock & a 3lb drag. Deep foot catch.

Surprised me at 67, thought it was around 55lb. Should be some good female Jan 31 wolf wizz if there’s any left.

Pretty much straight out of the Alaskan Wolf Manual…..
[Linked Image]
Didn’t really guide anything. I think the 750s were sunk in the trail too deep and are too short to reach up through the snow that had fallen over time, plus us driving over them a few times.

A local taxidermist wants this one, will help pay for the beaver slippers she’s making….lol

Very nice! I never get tired of seeing that.

I have nothing clever to put here.

It looks small but weighs in at 67lb. I’m thinking it’s still last years pup, but max maybe born in 2023 so almost 2?

Great catch! I hope you reset there?
With females I’d try to squeeze out a bit of urine after dispatch right over the trap area. This time of year particularly.

They’re all reset near by, but I’m thinking they learned that sled trails are dangerous. Last year the pack would rarely venture on a trail, but they would parallel it in the deep snow for a short distance. Took em down with snares. This pack was very brave.

One flew over us last weekend. We want to set snares all the way to Roseau River and entered it into the GPS, but wound up in Roseau MN! Dang GPS! We shook em off our tail though…lol
