Looks like a cheap knockoff of a belisle. My thought exactly.
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

See the metal has the Belisle bend after the catch, nice catch trap did its job. Good deal! Glad it bent no more than that. That is comparable to the Belisles.

Forgive my ignorance, we don't have beaver, never trapped beaver, or even seen a beaver, but....if regular dukes are strong and work fine, what is the advantage of the supers?, aside from the safeties.
Full closure of the jaws, they'll hold mink and muskrat that are caught by the tail. Regular dukes have a larger gap between the jaws when closed.

In addition to what K Snow said, The spring NOT being able to go around the corners of the trap is a great feature as well. Other traps they get around the corner, the dog even gets through the eye sometimes, just takes longer to straighten them out. When you put together all the handy added features and the extra fur they will catch, to me, they are worth the added expense. YMMV That "around the corner" crap makes me talk ugly!!!

How strong are the springs compared to Belisle? I am not looking for strong springs, just curious. I got my hands on one today and IMHO they are over powered. Quite a bit more than the Belisle's. The safeties are a tad too long also IMHO. At 6.50 a trap more I'll stick with the Canadian made product for now. It's peanuts in the long run.

I received 2 last night, springs are stronger than the ones on duke 330 mags. Safteys are a little long in my opinion had to use my knee and hands to get super mags to set. I certainly hope not ! Duke already had the strongest springs in the industry.

There were a couple folks in this thread asking what the advantage of this style trap is over a regular 330. Here is a good example. I think this otter tried to hop over my dive stick instead of diving under. The Duke supermag held him right there by both shoulders and he was DOA. Also, lost my setters today and had to take that otter out by hand. It is possible to set those traps by hand but it’s not something I’d want to do every day. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/ZKj703h8/IMG-4901.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/wjGwQpM3/IMG-4902.jpg)
