Dead center between the trees. Maybe lay a subtle guide to the left of the trail.

Any time you are setting snares, youre better off placing them where animals are walking normally. When you put them in spots where they are jumping, ducking heads, climbing, etc you get more misses or hip catches.

Loop center of the trail. Here in Kansas I will cut off some two foot long grass stems. Poke a screw driver in the ground for a hole and use a grass stem or three to block the outline of a snare a bit. If I am in snow like that I put a couple 3-4 inch long stripes on it with chalk.
I would set between those trees also.

It is too open for my liking. Lots of canines will balk at blocking unless it looks natural and not new. I would look for a better (tighter) location on the trail,or give them a reason to go into the thicker bush on either side. Definitely multiple snares.

There's another spot where they like to cross the creek that's tighter that I'll also set, but it seemed a waste not to set this path as well. I might wander a bit farther now that there's a bit more light after work, since I'll actually be able to at least see where I'm walking.

I think it looks like cat tracks in that last pic.,they are easy to snare just put snare anywhere along that trail. Also where I snare the coyotes get nervous if I walk the trail so I come into the trail from the side. Good luck! Good tip. Hasn't been much snow this year so it would be a while before my tracks got covered as well.
