Picked up 2 more reds in hay sets. One was a pretty rubbed female so let her go, seed for next year. The other a nice male came home,



My trail just keeps getting worse and with no snow in the forecast decided to pull all the traps. That and with Fur Rondy coming up I need to manage my time,



Still have 3 bait stations and 2 jackpots out there for yote.

With warmer temps moving in, no snow in the forecast, and a trail that is only ice, I decided to shut down the last of my line, Got the bait stations topped off for the seed that is still out there And managed to get that one last yote

Pulling traps is on par with the last day at geese camp for me. Couple of my least favorite days of the year for sure.

Well it has been a bit. Summer and fall went by pretty quick, no bears or moose this year. Fishing with a few buddies for silvers, hunting ducks with my friend Cory, and chasing moose with Ted and Mike where the highlights

Last Monday was our opener, not much snow but things were locked up good on the flats, the creeks and river are still pretty much wide open. I went last Sunday and dropped off 8 bags of bait at my start point. Next morning rolled up dropped my gear and ran bait out to 3 locations. The last location I dropped the bait and since it was at the end of my loop I decided I would snare it up on my way out. That was about 8am. About 4pm I rolled up to it and dang if the yotes and fox weren't already hitting it!

In the past week I have not seen any marten or lynx track. Looks like it is going to be a k9 year.

I didnt realize how much I missed seeing the sunrise on those crisp frosty mornings! Felt good being back in the office



Picked up one of those high dollar mink that FHA says is gonna bring big money this year



Picked up the first yote of the year in a hay set Used some pig scrap and a dab of Dobbins Dig'R lure.

AV negative, right now I dont have a vehicle that I feel comfortable driving up there and back in snowy conditions. Plus I have been pretty busy doing things for the SCCATA. Maybe next year



Still no marten or kitty track.

Picked up another yote today at a bait station and got schooled by an otter.

I had blocked down a little stream that they normally run on top of the ice. Well last check we got a little overflow and I had to chip the bottom of a 330 out. As I was doing that my boot broke through the ice. I should have put a 220 over that hole, Sure enough walking up there today an otter had come out of that hole, took a nice big dump on the bank proceeded to check both sides of the 330 out, then bailed back into the hole.

We need some snow! Be safe out there guys!

Nice to see you back out on the line John! I agree the sunrises and sunsets from the office are some of the best. Nice looking coyote!

Picked up yote #3, Dropped a bunch of otter gear and made a few more yote sets. Hopefully one of those sets will connect. Warming up pretty good here, calling for rain.

You are the coyote snaring king. I wish the wolf snares you made for me a few years ago had connected, but that year, every trip to the line was to dig everything out. The wolves were running the beaches at low tide, so never had a good opportunity.

Yeah AV it sucks fighting the weather that is for sure.

Was a pretty day out in the office considering we had a week work of crap weather, highs in the 40, rain, yeah....... but it is finally going to get cold and from the looks of it stay that way for a spell. Now if we could just get some dang snow!



Picked up yote #4 at a bait station, kind of surprised me because the birds have totally wiped everything out, That is my mission the next few runs to get them baited back up.



I got all these marten sets out and Mr Ermine decided he had to hop[ on the pan of a lynx trap.



Still playing with the otters, had one pop up out in a open lead come over and check out a bucket set then back to the ware he went. Just a matter of time before they screw up.
