I found what I think might be lynx scat. For a trapper in my SEAK neck of the woods this would be kinda rare.
What exactly does lynx poop look like during winter. Especially winter in an area w very few bunnies.
Thank you!

It's not so much the taste as the consistency that gives it away, give it a little nibble, if it's gritty it's cat poop

Lynx droppings , like most cat droppings are segmented, generally with one end rounded and the other end coming to a point.
That is not always the case, as the droppings can come out a short segment at a time.
In laymen terms, that would be a segment, a segment and then a full length stool , or something in that combination.
All depending on how much the animal defecates at the time.
But the thing that defines a cat dropping from canines, as an example, is the segments, the same way that Tootsie Roll Candy is made.
While Snowshoe hares make up a great portion of their diet, small rodents and birds are also on their menu.
Lynx will eat many small mammals and are not opposed to killing and eating Marten and even an occasional fox.
In snowy conditions, tracks will often help indicate what species of animal left it's droppings, but without it
being able to identify animal droppings just by looking at them will help show you what species exist in that area.
I hope this is some help. . .

I'm taking from this that a "segment" is sort of like a turd? Asking for a friend...!
