I watched this happen at least 3-4 times and it looked like a system the eagles had worked out!!

I was checking mink traps on a river after the Prj and I was at a bend in the river. I looked up and here flew a Great Blue Heron flying like it’s tail was on fire heading downriver. I don’t think I’d ever seen a Heron fly like that before. About 30’ behind the Heron was a Bald Eagle powering it on the Heron’s butt. I watched them until they flew around the next bend but I think the heron was a loser that day!

I give full approval to an Eagle killing a GBH, full aporoval.

Yep, see them every day. Watched them the other day high on the rims ovah the river searching for their next meal. I like to watch them and usually take the time to watch instead of being in a hurry.

I started keeping track a few years ago and now know where 61 eagle nests are just from driving around the twin cities area

Last summer in Wyoming we saw a golden eagle sitting up on a hill waiting for a baby antelope to move. I'm sure they get all they want.

Almost identical to loon

They migrate to areas of open water this time of year.

Bingo-I call them flying coyotes-they are even in the cities here now. Used to run every morning and at first light one day I saw one flying down our street with a cat in it's claws-oops.

We've had between 300-400 at times this winter at our local reservoir. Couple weeks ago counted 315 from one spot.

Here they travel with the ducks and geese. A few resident breeding pairs.

They do here also. See them every day doesn't matter what the weather is.

I never see them hunt here. They are always bellied up to a carcus with the crows and turkey vultures. We have lost a couple chickens and kittens to them awhile back.

Bald Eagles are just a buzzard in a tux.
The goldens are pretty classy and a lot bigger, when they figure out a snare line they will run it every day and eat every coyote and cat caught. It is not unusual to loose 20 plus coyotes and a hand full of cats each year. They have cost me a lot of money over the years.

I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

Yep, I have had problems with goldens but not Baldy's. Not sure why that is though.

We have a bunch. But the are better looking than the other buzzards. One day I watched one catch a mink.
