Only people I know who really don't are just folks who like to play around. And some of the rimfire ELR guys. Would like to try it honestly for giggles but the whole priming compound deal is my problem... Maybe for something like 17wsm but for .22lr...nahh

That primeall compound was used by the military about 100 years ago for awhile. Was found to be too corrosive. Remember at the time there were a lot of folks with lots of black powder experience and they still decided it was too corrosive. I dont remember what it was called but you can easy research it.

no back when 22lr was unavailable and I could get 22 dollar a brick pistol primers I shot a bunch of 38spl , cast bullets 2.7gr of titewad dump a box of cartridges in my right jacket pocket , collect the cases back up in the left 14oz of titewad was 16.75 you only get 14oz because it has volume but is light the powder and primer cost was about 3 cents so then it was my time and the wheel weights I was getting from the garage when I had work done. good luck wearing out 38spl brass with light loads you probably shoot each case 100 times. it was a cheap Rock Island 38spl and I did end up wearing it out , sent it back got replaced and now wore it out again but it has been a decade so it just sits something wrong with the hand it doesn't rotate every time.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I'll take you guys up on that. lol I just found some strike anywhere matches to try as primer. Didn't know they made it anymore. If yall remember I gave a demo at Beaman a few years ago on doing it .BTW the 22 reloader kit was way cheaper several years ago. Basicly just wondering if anyone else has tried it.

I have an old Guns & Ammo Book with detailed info on how to do that, From the mid 70's or so. It said the hard part was mixing the priming and making a spinner to sling it into the rim.
