Canadian Millet is grown on the Canadian Prairies of Alberta, a Canadian Province that keeps trying to leave Canada. Alberta has tried to leave Canada for longer than I have been alive. If the tarrifs do happen, there's a great chance Alberta will sat bye bye to Canada, hello United States.

I've seen it grown in Western Nebraska as well as cotton.

I’d at least look at Albert Lee seed house, they ship, I’d call the Walmart price a touch high.

Do you cook with the millet or feed it to the birds?

I don't think I've ever eaten millet in anything.

What kind of millet did you buy and for what purpose?

I get tremendous wild millet (aka barnyard grass) response with timely soil disturbance in early summer.

Do you flood it? Does it have to be flooded to attract waterfowl?

We plant brown top for upland - doves and turkey. We plant chiwappa and japanese in wetlands for ducks. Chiwappa has a maturity of about 120 days and gets fairly tall. Japanese about 70 days and about three feet tall. Has to be flooded for waterfowl.

Not in SD, we used to lay in the windrows and shoot limits of mallards. They love the stuff.

I do flood it after it matures. (these pics are of Japanese Millet). Even if I don't, Mother Nature will lay it down with wind or rain and provide "low areas" for WF to feed on it :-)

I've got a small lake on my property. It gets a few ducks on it, but not many. I'd like to figure out how to attract more. The lake was built in a ravine, so the sides are steep leaving no shallow spots for growing stuff along the edges. I was wondering if a small patch of dry millet right next to the lake would add anything.

Bird feed is what I do. They don't like the milo. Mostly finches
Amazon has some for $50/50#. Probably aren't going to beat that. That's shipped.

As of yesterday, Danielle Smith, the Premier of Alberta has met with President Donald Trump 10 times since he won the election.

Alberta is likely to join the US first.
