Nevada Trappers Association 2013 sale, the average was $657. I averaged over 650 one year at NAFA. Might have been 2013 but I thought it was longer ago than that.

Cat averages are kind of misleading oftentimes, unless you have a lot of cats. Look at the spread on the Utah sale, 1500-8 from high cat to low cat. At that kind of difference one real good cat or one real bad cat can really skew your average. Still something to look at, but sellers need to realize that if they don't have just what the buyers are looking for, one or two more poor cats than average in your lot is really going to tank your average. Conversely, if you happen to have a top lot cat, realize that they are often paying ridiculous prices for that cat as an advertising ploy, fur value of the cat isn't worth that, but value of being able to advertise that you bought the top cat at the Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, etc. sales is. So be happy and proud when you sell that cat, but when someone says so and so had the top cat and they averaged $XXX I want to know how many cats they had, and what the average was when you take out the top cat, because chances are that cat is going to seriously skew their average upwards.

AZ and CO cage only. CA shut down. NM no blm trapping. UT has a five cat limit. Folks in UT buying license for family members but production still not high. The number of western cats produced has declined. Still the only spotted animal legal to market. I think it will get even better.

Arizonia is not cage only.Footholds are allowed on private land.I will take almost $600 average for bobcats.

Well take a trip to AZ. Get permissions. Tell us how that works for you.

I've heard it said that there are maybe only 10 or less great top lot cats caught in the west on an annual basis. Those cats likely end up in a garment that may sell for $250,000 to a rich Russian for his sweety. I don't think that the country buyer loses too much money on his "advertising".
