America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I think they are somewhat iconic. I’m not a big handgun guy though. If you want one buy it. You only live once

Back in 1992, every Monday, I used to go to a strip club owned by the Gambinos in Bridgeport, Connecticut called Ruby's. Their large security staff had holsters with Colt Python 357s on both hips. It seemed overkill, but there was never any problems at the club. During football season, it was $3.50 to get in and they had all you could eat Italian food. It was about the best deal in Connecticut.

^^^WTH?

Back to Colt Pythons, I have one in .357. Great weapon and, I agree, fun to shoot. Very smooth and accurate. I never carry it though. Just on the range every now and then.

as long as your not planning to run it as a revolver division competition gun rock on

if you are have a good smith who works on them

you will break trigger lock work components when you get into some round count

if you are planning like 2K round in a lifetime of 357 you are probably good

if your planning to run around 1K rounds a month as double action, buy 2 so you have a backup while the other is getting fixed

if your planning to run 1K rounds a year of powder puff 38spl in a bulleseye league , have fun.

the weakness as I understand it is high round count 357 shot entirely as double action , it beats up the internals I am not a revolver competition guy this is just what I am hearing from the revolver guys I know who shot ICORE , IPSIC and USPSA revolver division

I like the Python, but will take my S&W 686 3 inch.

Very nice handgun and mine is a 7 shot

Great pistol. In stainless it is almost indestructible.
Took my shooting test for my CWP with the hubbys' Python. The instructor looked at me like I was crazy, all the other gals had little .22 semi autos.
I had .38 special loads in it and passed with 90+% in the circle.
Smooth shooting and balanced well with the right barrel length.

Compares nicely to a S&W, take your pick.
The other "snake guns" are good shooters too.

Nice guns, don't know about the new ones though. Very smooth, very ticky in tthat every thing is timed just so,not much margin for error when working on them. Again very nice guns but I wouldn't recommend it for rough work
