v-max aint much for anything small unless you want it to disappear...

Those bullets are not Nosler Ballistic tips.

The Varmageddon bullets are a thinner wall / jacket construction, than Ballistic tips.

Unfortunately, not the same bullets.

You don't see may of those around anymore. At one time it was the most common 17 bullet. I stocked up on Remington 25 gr HPs years ago.

I've shot 100+ ground hogs w/them. Cant remember one moving after it was hit!

If you don't want to run vmaxes, Reeds shows they have some soft points and hp in 17 cal.

Huh. Someone should tell the critters that I've helped over rainbow bridge with mine. Up to and including a full size Michigan whitetail doe.

They're a tipped bullet that's built to fragment. You're not shooting through a moose with one, but yotes aren't that big. You get past the skin and turn a softball sized area to jelly, they aren't running far. At least in my limited experience. (In the 204)

Problems I had with the Vmax was splash on several coyotes, switched over to soft points in 17 Rem and Hornet.
