the best looking ones I have seen use 3 pipe legs , and they laminate 3/4 plywood to make it 1 1/2
3 points determine a plane so not tippy
personally I mostly go prone with a mat if I want to chase groups or I use a pack on the hood , toss some stuff in the pack and put it on the hood unless you intend to shoot your deer from a bench in the box blind , it makes more sense to practice how you will actually shoot.
for me that is slung prone or sitting for stable positions
sometimes a pack or bipod prone
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
these are very expensive but if you pattern the idea off this and build your own you can do it for a lot less money , it is basically the most solid portable bench you can get.

I've bought and used more than I care to admit for shootiing P/dogs and general plinking. Only thing I've gone back to as a "portable is a portable work bench . Too many of the portable shooting benches is a tripod style and/or the seat attached which amplifies any movement. 4 legs and the widest stance you can find or fabricate.
