I have a unique way of turkey hunting. I snuck up 10 yards from a spring tom and got him. In the fall, i chased a group of turkeys and into a creek and picked one out and fired.

You're cheating yourself out of the real fun of harvesting a gobbler.....calling him up to gun range, hearing him gobble, and watching him strut.

Basically, all you did was shoot a turkey. To each his own as long as it's legal.

When I hunt them, I also want the experience of calling and enjoying the hunt also. I don't when I have hunted them do the run and gun thing. I want the experience and joy of harvesting one so I can watch and hear them. I have a large amount on my place these pictures have been taken in the last week.

I try to give the turkeys and pheasants a little something to eat when the extreme cold fronts come through. These turkeys came to the feed while I was standing there from just throwing out some feed. I usually a coffee can full of mixed grains. The ones flying where getting up from the cedar trees when I took a walk a few days ago. Took with cell phone some big Toms in the bunch.

I have a herd of about 32 show up twice a day for a snack, never bothered them....

We never had turkeys years ago, so no turkey hunting culture. Thumped a couple upstate while deer hunting, but they were just targets of opportunity.

Give a man a deer, he will eat for a day, teach a man to deer hunt, he will go broke and starve.

You must be a lot better hunter than me. I have a cattle farm so I have a stocked freezer year round. I cant imagine not having beef year round. Now I feel spoiled.
