Correction. Alaska DOES seal Marten, but it's not a locking tag and it's not in every unit up here. So yes and no.

We catch a ton of them. It's just a colored plastic string with the year written on it. They change the color of the string each year. You just run the string through an eye hole with about 20 of them on one string or however many you caught.

Our state is so big, some areas they do not care how many anyone catches. There are more animals than Bruce can catch. Other areas, you get every one of them sealed every year. These areas they keep a good eye on the marten, and have stats for many years of collecting data. They change our yearly limits if they need to.

We don’t seal them in Oregon, we don’t have a lot of them, just small areas have them.
