This Sunday’s inquiry, do you see vanishing individual events or do you connect the “dots”?

Example: You’re shopping with your spouse and upon returning to the car she/he realizes the store clerk has given $1 too much change. She/he goes back in the store, gives the $1 to the cashier and returns to the car. You back out of the spot only to learn someone has set a Snapple bottle out of their vehicle and it has rolled under one of your tires (I’d like to think nobody would place it there on purpose). You back over it and bang, it shatters. You check and there is zero damage to the tire.

Would that be “just a thing” or a blessing?

I'm not one for looking for or seeing " signs" or carma. To easy to see it how you want it.

We used to sing a song called "The Royal Telephone". If we have lost connection its time to start searching the reason why. Yes we can get physical confirmation of what the Holy Spirit is telling us but that needs to be secondary and not our first go to.

Saul left God, God didn't depart him first. In his frustration of casting lots and such he ran off to seek advice from the Witch of Endor. Hoping she could bring up the spirit of Samuel for advise. Many believed as a witch she could summon him, but others think she remembered Samuel and was just bringing up things that would resonate to Saul that she had called him up.

Sometimes in sports when the coach flashes signs, the players get them wrong and then who knows what the outcome is, most likely not according to plan.

If I start doubting the Holy Spirit and think maybe he is a fibber, then its time to do some soul searching and see where connection got disconnected.

There was an old man and woman so lazy they would hardly feed themselves. One day sitting in their rockers the old man asked the old woman if it was raining outside. The blinds were pulled but both were too lazy to raise one to look out to see if it was raining. The old man thought and told the old woman to call the dog in and see if he was wet !

If there had been damage to the tire, I know what would be going through my head.
I don't know how many times I've heard the saying no good deed goes un punished.
I wouldn't think that was punishment for being honest. But Job would come to mind.

I think that is reference to living “on your own” and pissing the devil off with YOUR charity.

I think of it more as if we listen to the Spirit, He gives us patience, faith and self control. Fruits ofthe Spirit.
You shall know them by there fruits.

Or,
Things just happen sometimes.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

The delay caused by returning the money and the broken bottle may have prevented you from being in a horrible accident or some other calamity. God only knows...

Yes. I sometimes think we dilute Gods purpose with our reasoning. But then we are men.

How do you know the Snapple bottle wasn't there all along?

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

If you kept the dollar you would do the cashier a favor, after the lost dollar was taken from her paycheck, that would encourage him/her to learn how to count.... grin

Win, win...lol
