Any members near Denver?

I’m going to a farm show (Commodity Classic) and this year it’ll be held in Denver at the convention center. I’ll be there 4 days, looking for any local attractions to check out while I’m there. Recommend any restaurants, sporting goods shops, public lands/parks?

Like most big cities, I’m sure it’s liberal-focused and full of pot shops. However, there’s gotta be a few attractions for a country boy to see.

Thanks!

I’m not from Denver but I’ve been. It’s not right in Denver but Red Rocks Amphitheater was cool as heck. I’d go back there just to see a good concert. I enjoyed Coors Field and a game and ate good meals in Larimer Square . I’m sure a local could give you much more insight but even though there’s always lots to dislike about big cities there are pros too in my books.

I’m going serving as delegate for Maryland Corn Growers. I’ll be in meetings but will still have free time here and there. So no, not looking to profit.

Not sure how much spare time you will have but I have people in Canon City. The Royal Gorge Bridge was awesome to see when I was a kid but that's been 35 years ago when I went. Best I remember it was between Colorado Springs and Canon City. You could hand feed eer there and there was plenty of golden eagles flying around the canyon beneath you as well. I think the bridge is like 1/2 above the river or something like that.

Its west of Canon on hwy 50. Go past it down the big hill to the river you can walk through it on the RR right of way. Dont have to pay. Used to fish it with my cousins. May not be able to go all the way to canon now. they have some kind of tourist train that runs through there. RR didnt care when I was a kid. there is a road that goes up toward the canyon by the old prison. we would have someone meet us there.

Take a ride west on 70 thru Glenwood canyon, its a good scenic drive. It was better before they made it a modern 4 lane, nut still scenic.

Buffalo Bills grave is right outside Denver along 70 also.

1.3 million acres of crop land in Maryland. We grow about 100 million bushels of corn give or take. Nothing compared to the Midwest but Agriculture is a big part of Maryland’s economy. The chicken industry is huge on the eastern shore, majority of bushels stay right here , sold to a feed mill for chicken feed.

Back to the original question. Thanks all who gave suggestions

Denver is... full of pot shops. We stayed in Golden a few years ago on our way in and out of Denver. It was a nice little town. The School of Mining is there and was really neat to see. Red Rocks is for sure cool to see. Lots of other cool things to see, but have to drive a little further.

There are a few custom cowboy hat makers in Denver - Hats by Thomas Parker and a few others. Casa Bonita is also in Denver if you are a Southpark fan...

Likes Peak near Colorado Springs. Royal Gorge definetely worth a visit. Denver as a whole is disgusting, but its worth watching Jokic play basketball if you can get tickets.

If you’ve never been to a Scheels you should check it out. Pretty cool sporting goods store.

The good things in close proximity are listed above. Another great downside is the traffic, bring lots of ammo for that.
