It’s that time of year again, spring is just around the corner and the grouse are dancing on the prairie.
Took a new camera lens out to test, birds weren’t dancing hard yet but they should start heating up with the nice weather.

Beautiful shots!!!
I will be going to a spot and watch this spring when the mating ritual is on. They go back to the same area when the ritual of mating is on.

IMO, Grouse of all species and woodcock have the most varied color definition in their feathers of any North American bird species.

Nice pictures as always, Tray. The one refuge here sets up plywood blinds you can go set in and watch the the sharptail grouse dance. The blinds are 4x8 and 4' tall some times they dance on the roof. They are from a few feet out to about 30 yards. There will be 20-40 at a time. I have not gone and watched them for a while, I should go watch them again.

Ruffed Grouse are on my wish list of birds to get photographed, hopefully someday I get the time in the spring to chase them.

Great photos, thanks!

My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

Those are cool photos, Tray! I think Sharptails are neat birds. there used to be, briefly, Sharptails and G.P. Chickens in my area. The changing habitat caused both to die out here. Chickens are completely extirpated from Michigan since around 1980 or '81, Sharpies are still found, and hunted, in the U.P.
